I laughed this morning when schools were called off and there was no snow coming down! (I grew up outside of Chicago, and we would get feet of snow and still walk to school.) But, as it turns out, the forecasters got the weather correct for today. The snow has been coming down hard since about 9:00 this morning. It's beautiful! I figure if it's going to cold, it might as well snow. We are going to try to go outside and go sledding after naps this afternoon. It kind of messes up our new adventure, though.
I decided that since we are going to be snowed in for awhile (Cincy doesn't have the tools to deal with snow like this so the city just shuts down), we started potty training boot camp today. A basically is running around "nakey" (no pants) with a pair of my thick socks pulled up past his knees. It's pretty cute, and he thinks it's the greatest thing ever. He's done great so far. Only one accident, and it was kind of my fault. He was in time out and told me he had to pee. He had just pulled the same excuse a little earlier as a way to get out of being in time out. I figured he was doing the same thing, so I didn't go to get him. Turns out, he really did have to pee. Oh, well. One accident isn't bad at all.
The plan was to be nakey for three days except at naps/sleep time. But, we'll have to take a break from boot camp to go sledding. I can't let him miss this snow. He's been wanting to use C's new sled since he got it for his birthday, and the temperature is in the 20s instead of the single digits.
I'll try to take some snow pics, but if it's still coming down this hard, I don't think I can take my camera out. It'll get soaked.

Chistmas 2009
Here are some pics from Christmas. They start with a few from Cleveland. The sweet girl with the boys is our cousin, MG. The boys adore her and she is so good with them. She bought them a garbage bag full of gifts with her own money. What a sweetheart!
Then the pics continue with a few from our week with family in Cincy. We took the boys to a place in Mason called Run, Jump and Play. It was a blast! Indoor park equipment and inflatables. Then there are a few from my parents house. I didn't end up with too many pics. As the action increased throughout the week, I forgot to take my camera out.
Pictures from C's 1st Birthday

Momma and the birthday boy! I love my sweet C!

Partied out. Not liking the big crowd of people staring at him. He didn't even try the cake.

Didn't want to open presents, either. Just enjoyed chasing this ball around the house while his brother and cousin opened his gifts for him.

C's new sled. Now all we need is some snow!

Playing with his big brother.

Happy Birthday, C
I can't believe it's been a year. C, you are such a smiley, happy baby. Despite the rough start to your life and all the sickness you've dealt with this year, I am continually amazed by the great attitude you have. Anytime I take you out somewhere, strangers tell me what a happy baby you are. I love the happiness you display. Your smile is contagious and leaves me smiling even on the days when I am tired.
Happy Birthday, C. You are no longer Baby C. Just C. I can't wait to watch you as you continue to grow this year. I love watching you learn new things. You are so proud of yourself when you learn something new. You get this huge grin on your face. I love you, C, and I can't wait to see what this year has in store for you.

Birthday Party
We had a family birthday party for baby C last night. It was so fun to have the family together. Of course I had to laugh that C wasn't interested in cake adn didn't open many of the presents. Luckily he had a 2 year old brother and cousin to help with both. :)
I haven't had a chance to download any pics yet because we took off this morning for Cleveland to visit P's family. Tomorrow will be Christmas party #1 of 5. I know the boys will be overwhelmed by the 40+ people there, but that should melt away when the presents get pulled out.
For now, check out my sis's blog. She posted some pics from the birthday party last night. Thanks Aunt M! You are way more on the ball than I am :)

Some Good Books
I've been doing some more reading lately. Here are some great books I've finished, in case you are looking for a good read.
Irresistible Revolution
The Barbarian Way
Crunchy Cons (still working on this one)
Reckless Faith
The Outward-Focused Life
Sacred Parenting
And I just picked this one up at the library today. It doesn't exactly fit with the rest of the list, but I am a huge Nicholas Sparks fan. I am automatically put on the waiting list for his books when he comes out with a new one. :)

Night night, mommy
P got up with the boys today and let me sleep a little longer. Before they went downstairs, A came to the side of the bed and started belting out the Alphabet Song. When he finished, he patted my back and whispered to me, "Door opened or closed?" Then tiptoed out of the room and said, "night-night, mommy." It made me laugh so hard!
