Sorry no pics

A was looking at pics on our camera the other day. He thought he would "help" the camera close by pushing the lens in, which jammed the camera. I think it's fixed now, so hopefully I'll have new pics soon.

C was at the doc today and we found out he has croup. They gave him some meds that will hopefully help. He had a long night of wheezy, barking coughs last night. I'm hoping he'll sleep better tonight. And, I am really hoping it is all cleared up by next Wed. when we are heading to NC to go to the beach with my fam. It would be horrible if he was sick for that!

Not much else to update. We've spent a lot of time outside as spring-like weather has arrived (at least for a little while). Hopefully it sticks around.

Spring!

We have had so much fun the past couple of days.  The weather has been great, and we have gotten to go outside almost every day.  We have some of the greatest neighbors.  It has been so much fun to see A show some independence as he goes off to play with his friends and barely notices if mom is even there.  It's given me a little more freedom.  Though I am always close by, I don't have to be an arm's length away.

We've also gotten to take some great walks.  We have a new double stroller, so I can run errands with both kids.  Yesterday ended a long era as I walked to the high school to return my set of keys.  I have had keys to the school for 5 and half years, and it was weird to give them back.  It was also weird to realize that I would walk in to the HS and most likely not see a student I know.  Most of the kids I know from MHS have graduated, and only a hand-full of seniors would recognize me.  "Weird" is the only word I can think of.  Good, but weird.

A has also been going to a speech class on Wed. mornings.  This is run similarly to a preschool class, but they help him develop his speech and learn to use more words.  This has helped tremendously!   As of Nov. when we started, A had 3 words, but they were all used interchangeably.  He now strings together 3-4 word sentences without being prompted and can count to 10 (though he usually leaves out 3 and 8).  He also "counts" in spanish, which is hysterical.  It pretty much goes, "one, dos, quattro, seven, diez."  He's so proud of himself, though.  I am so impressed with his language.  It has blossomed in the last few months.  I love the proud look on his face when he says something and another adult understands without me needing to translate.  Precious!

Daddy's Helper

P was fixing a broken cabinet the other day, and he ended up getting a lot of help from A, who brought his toy tools into the kitchen to be just like daddy.  It was precious!

Things I Thought I Would Never Have to Say...

1. No, buddy. Your chicken nugget is not a football.

2. We eat the macaroni and cheese, not the bowl!

3. Why is there green playdoh in your nose?

4. I know jumping from the second stair to the floor sounds like fun, but you'll get hurt.

5. You can get down after you eat a few more Doritos.

6. You can drink your yogurt, but you can't drink your mac and cheese.

7. Sorry, buddy. You can not have any more vitamins. No, not even if you cry, you've had enough vitamins today.

Yep... I've uttered every one of those within the last 24 hours! I guess this is life with a 2 year old!

Prayers

Tonight, Aidan wanted to say the prayer before dinner. Here's what he wanted to thank God for (and yes... it was in this order):
Neigh Neigh (horses)
Baa Baa (sheep)
Noah (as in Noah and the Ark)
GaGa (Grandma)

That's life changing prayer right there! Grandma should feel honored for making the list!

2 Months Old

So I'm a little last posting the pic, but not to be left out, Baby C reached the 2 month milestone.  In some ways, I can't believe it's been two months already!  At the same time, I have already forgotten what life was like with only one child.  I can't imagine life without Baby C.  He's become such a "healthy" baby (that's the polite way of saying he's a chunk!!).  He weighed in at 14 lbs, 4 oz!  At this rate, he'll be out of his baby car seat (that's supposed to last a year) by the time he's 4 months old!

He's learned how to smile, and between bouts of colic and acid reflux, he can be a really happy, smily baby.  My heart melts when he looks me straight in the eyes and gets a huge grin.  I guess that's the reward for the sleepless nights!  I love you, C!
